Shortee is co-founder of the world reknown turntablist dj crew The Citizenz (with DJ's Faust and T-Rock) as well as an experienced producer appearing on the Fathomless EP (Faust, Shortee and Craze), DJ Faust's Man or Myth album, Revenge of the B-Boy ("The All Out Kid" - Faust & Shortee) and the Metabass album ("Goddess)". The song "Shortee's Return" from The Dreamer album is also featured on Bomb Hip-Hop's upcoming "Return of the DJ - Volume III". In addition to Shortee's DJ production skills, she has been a drummer/percussionists for 17 years. Shortee takes her musicians experience and evenly balances it with her advanced DJ skills to create an extremely musical album with a variety of hooks, chorus, bridges and beats that are constantly changing up along with a creative story line, making you want to listen to it again and again. Shortee uses her music to guide the listener through the story of her dreams as she conducts a sleep research experiment. In the story, the dreamer's brain waves emit sound waves as she dreams. The album represents a recording of this experiment. Each song symbolizes a dream and each dream is different - ranging in hip-hop, dub, drum 'n' bass, go-go and swing. All the while creating different situations that the dreamer encounters. In the song "Sound Wars" the dreamer is battling the evil God of War who is trying to destroy the universe by using the power of sound. Shortee creates the setting and dialogue by cutting in phrases and sound effects in the mist of an intoxicating beat. In the song "Caverns of Dub", one of the only turntablists dub songs ever created the dreamer dreams she is a Jamaican woman communicating with her fellow piers when they are suddenly visted by aliens who stumble across their secret cave. From the beginning of the song the listener feels as if they are right there in the cave with them. She welcomes you in with flutes and basslines while incorporating DJ elements as well as including premiere vocal stylings of the up and coming vocalist MISTY.

Shortee includes a common theme through some of her songs and interludes which depicts the dreamer as the princess who pricks her finger on needle falling into a deep sleep and is awakened by her prince (DJ Faust on "Girl Meets Boy"). Shortee has toured the world performing with her partner DJ Faust as part of the dynamic duo of Faust & Shortee along with other acts such as Prince Paul, Afrika Bambaataa, Shortkut, Babu and 1998 DMC Champion Craze. She in very versatile and spins different sets of hip-hop, rare groove, turntablism and techno/house. Shortee is also the 1997 Fever/Buzz Battle of the DJ Champion. (which is the biggest techno/house DJ Battle in the USA). This album should apppeal to fans of DJ Shadow, Coldcut, Q-Bert, DJ Spooky, Faust, Craze, Mixmaster Mike.
