Shortee & The Playboy Playmates
Shortee performed as Playboy Magazine's one & only official club DJ celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2004!! She rocked the tables for 5 hours a night at 50 exclusive hi-profile events across the nation alongside countless celebrities, athletes, Bunnies and, of course, The Playboy Playmates!! At their height, more than 40 Playboy Clubs, hotels and resorts around the world revolutionized nightlife and provided a sexy, sophisticated playground for pleasure-seeking patrons to mingle with beautiful women, the social elite and the biggest names in sports and entertainment. In February 2004, and continuing through June, Playboy celebrated its 50th anniversary by reviving the Playboy Clubs in 50 cities across the U.S.A.
Starting in 1960, the private key clubs introduced the world to cotton-tailed Playboy Bunny cocktail waitresses. Back in the day, you might have been Bunny Dipped by Barbara Hutton, Sherilyn Fenn, Deborah Harry or even Gloria Steinem (working undercover). The clubs featured top-shelf entertainment by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Bob Newhart, Richard Pryor and Aretha Franklin. The reviews back then were unanimous: "Disneyland for adults." -- Newsweek "20th Century Dreamworlds." - Variety Time even described the Rabbit-headed metal Playboy key as "the closest thing to a Phi Beta Kappa from Yale."
So,
for their 50th anniversary, Playboy revives the Playboy Club concept in
52 clubs, casinos & resorts across the country, finishing up the tour
with the last event held at the infamous Playboy Mansion!! A limited number
of VIP tickets were sold, & the lucky folks were ushered up the red
carpet, past the velvet rope and welcomed to the exclusive party to mingle
with famous athletes, celebrities, Bunnies and Playmates. Modern projected
images, plasma monitors and the sounds of Playboy's very own scratch diva,
DJ Shortee spinning club, house, hip-hop and electronica, offset the retro
chic. Celebrate Playboy's first 50 years and the next 50 in style.

DJ Shortee rocked the primetime slot at the
Superbowl once again @ Playboy’s exclusive 5th Annual Super Saturday
Night Party, the hottest party in town & Playboy's biggest party of
the year!! Playboy transformed the historic Corinthian in Houston into
a mystical convergence of Heaven and Hell and Shortee
was dressed as the devilish DJ diva. DJ Kelly opened the party for the first 2 hours with sexy house music & rocked
it with her native San Fran style. Shortee took the stage at 11pm & kept the party jumpin' for 3 1/2 hours, rocking
the hottest hip-hop, R&B & house music. As a result, Playboy had
no choice but to extend the party longer than planned because no one wanted
to leave the dancefloor after last call!!

even got hugs & kisses from SNL's

as thanks for their support. Her mix CDs were also available as a free
giveaway in the silent auction gift bags. If you were in town for the
game, this was your chance to mix and mingle with Playmates, pro-athletes
and celebrities. This year's guests also included
Jermaine Dupree, Tara Reid, Nikki & Paris Hilton, Duran Duran's
John Taylor & Simon Le Bon, Cal Ripken Jr., Barry Sanders, Pharrell
Williams, Shannon Elizabeth & more!

SHORTEE performed for Hugh & all his guests at their “Casa
de Playboy” red carpet bash, which was held at the grandiose ‘House
of Hospitality’ in San Diego’s Balboa Park. Keeping with the Latin Theme,
Shortee was booked to play an hour of Latin Jazz & 3 hours of Latin
House. Other performances included the Latin Fusion Band KINKY & Marilyn
Manson’s wife DITA performing an old fashioned burlesque show. Artful
body painting & a silent auction containing many rare items including
the original lithograph of the first Playboy cover featuring Marilyn Monroe!
Casa de Playboy was featured on the E! & VH1
networks as one of the best Super bowl parties of the year!
