Future Primitive Sound Collective Compilation Released 2001

The Future Primitive Sound is an independent record label based in San Francisco, committed to the advancement of progressive hip-hop DJ culture. The label was born out of the concert series "Future Primitive Soundsession," a highly influential event whiched helped to cultivate modern turntablist culture in the bay area.

The first limited-edition Future Primitive Sound releases documented these live shows, bringing them beyond the San Francisco underground and presenting this movement to the world.

"URBAN REVOLUTIONS" is the label's next step towards furthering this evolving art form. It is a move away from the stagnent, industry driven formula and a step towards innovation. This project was conceived in the spirit of the original days of hip-hop where the art form had no definitions and limitations outside originality and music was fun... With respect to our roots, we move forward.
