"From hard drum & Bass to hip-hop, DJ Shortee doesn't let genre distinctions get in the way of delivering good music. The unifying theme: unassailable turntablist techniques & irresistible body movements. We set Shortee loose on the new Numark DXM Pro mixer-let's see how it held up." XLR8R EDITORS

The heavy-duty two-channel Numark DXM Pro is 100% digital, complete with long-life interchangeable conductive polymer faders, and master balanced booth and SPDIF (Optical and Coaxial) 24-bit digital output signal processing for excellent sound quality.
This mixer is very versatile and perfect for mixing drum & bass, house & hip-hop, as well as scratching & beatjuggling. The three-band EQ is super dope-highs, mids, and lows all with complete kill to zero db; the curve on each knob is super smooth and gradual when you are fading each frequency. The digital VCA crossfader is extra crispy and all the faders have easy access reverse and slope adjustments so you can choose what settings you want to use on the fly. This mixer also incorporates a cool spring-loaded transform function built into the phono/line switch, which makes for some pretty fresh scratch/transform patterns.
You can adjust the volume of each turntable in the headphones by sliding the cue fader from right to left and the cue/master button allows you to easily switch between hearing the cue or the master volume. If your monitors suck, you can do everything in the headphones and know exactly what it sounds like on the dancefloor. My favorite cue feature is the tone knob, which enables you to choose between hearing more highs or lows in your headphones while you are mixing.
The only features that I feel would enhance this mixer would be to add XLR outputs (the sound techs love those) and I would love to see an effects send/return with on/off switches for each channel so I can control my outboard effects. Overall the Numark DXM Pro is a solid mixer, better then most industry standards and I wouldn't mind using it to rock a show whether it is a turntablist showcase or drum & bass massive. DJ SHORTEE
